On July 30th just before 9 am, Rushmere VFD was toned to Arcing Wires on Old Stage Hwy. A semi had scrapped the trees and a tree limb had come down across the road and into the wires. IOW Sheriffs office dispatched units to control traffic. Many thanks to the Sheriffs!
Verizon, Dominion and VDOT were called. The limb was significantly large and still mostly attached to the tree trunk. Verizon was able to cut some smaller stuff up and release tension on the communications wiring. VDOT brought in a Front-end grappler and pulled the limb from the tree and cleared the road.
At 1119 Rushmere cleared and was made available.
